Course Description –
In this five-hour course, we will review information based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations as they relate to the hazard awareness and communication, hazard classification, Safety Data Sheets and labeling requirements of hazardous materials within the workplace. The updated Hazard Communication Standard (as of 2012) is the core of this training and can be found in 29 CFR 1910.1200.
This training course is an overview of how the system of chemical hazard information and communication works. We will review the updated Hazard Communication Standard and its alignment with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. This presentation will increase your knowledge of chemical hazards, hazard classification and the basic personal protection methods to ensure safe handling and usage of chemicals. Participants must always take the time to properly understand the hazards and appropriate precautions when using, handling or working around the chemicals in their facility.

Who Should Attend?
This OSHA – Hazard Communication HAZCOM course was designed to fulfill the hazard-communication training requirements imposed by OSHA regulations. It is intended for all employees that could be exposed to chemicals in their workplace. This training applies to employers and employees in nearly all places of employment, including General Industry, Construction, Manufacturing, Service and Transportation Services.

Participants will receive a course completion certificate and earn .5 Continuing Education Units from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DS/DW/WW02099007) upon successful completion of the course.
