Mark Morgan has overall responsibility for employee safety and workers’ compensation administration for NextEra Energy, Inc. NextEra Energy is a leading clean energy company with nearly $16.7 billion in operating revenue, approximately 45,500 megawatts of net generating capacity and approximately 14,300 employees in 36 states and four Canadian provinces.

Morgan has championed numerous safety initiatives including the development of ZEROToday! (NextEra Energy’s near miss reporting program), peer-to-peer coaching, hazard assessment training, root cause analysis software and the occupational nurse assistance program. One of his main focus areas is a special emphasis on safety leadership across all levels of the organization.

Prior to his position at NextEra Energy, Morgan lead the workers’ compensation program for American Airlines. He has extensive experience in the fields of safety, risk management and disability claims management.

He earned his associate safety professional and associate in risk management designations and authored “Morgan’s Manual: A Guide to Workers’ Compensation in Texas.”
