1. TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE AND THE WORK YOU DO IN YOUR INDUSTRY.

As Vice President of Safety, Health, and Security at Ryder, I oversee strategic and operational safety initiatives, regulatory compliance programs, and key safety technology integrations across North America.

2. AS AN ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER, WHAT IMPACT DO YOU HOPE TO MAKE WITHIN THE LEADERSHIP CABINET?

As a board member, the opportunity to network and share best practices related to safety, health, and sustainability is impactful for large and small companies alike. At Ryder, we focus on safety excellence, and I strive to share safety innovations and initiatives with my fellow board members as they too work on creating and sustaining a safer workplace for their employees. This is particular true as it relates to transportation safety and vehicle safety technology.

3. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES OR OPPORTUNITIES YOU SEE IN YOUR INDUSTRY RELATED TO SAFETY, HEALTH, OR SUSTAINABILITY?

For many years, safety improvement (as it relates to key performance indicators (KPIs) has been mainly focused on lagging metrics. To really move the needle, the focus on safety improvement needs to be more on leading or proactive indicators. This is the biggest opportunity (in my opinion) to drive safety safety excellence and has been my goal at Ryder. With this level of focus along with data driven insights, companies can proactively manage risks, before they escalate, improving overall preparedness and prevention.

4. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WOR? ANY HOBBIES OR INTERESTS THAT MIGHT SURPRISE PEOPLE?

Being from Southern Louisiana, I LOVE to cook and bake. In fact, I often bake special treats for my family and friends. I receive may requests to bake for birthdays and other special celebrations.
